Sometimes nature and chance come together to make something truly beautiful.
This is an accidental planting scheme consisting of some irises I’ve had for a few years (scavenged from a friends garden when she was having some serious landscaping done), some self seeded cerinthe major (which normally lives in another bed) and some black tulips I planted a couple of years ago but they never really did anything.
The tulips are beautiful, they almost look like they are made of velvet.
I always think irises look like the haute couture of the garden world.
Cerinthe Major is one of my favourite cottage garden plants. I nearly always forget for sew it, but fortunately mother nature is not so forgetful.
All this with a back drop of cherry blossom. I can’t quite believe this is my garden.
